1. Who we are

Deedhawk is a county property records product operated by Needle and Camel Investments LLC ("Deedhawk", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in this document at contact@deedhawk.tech, or by post at 14415 N 41st Pl, Phoenix, AZ 85032.

2. What you give us

When you request a demo, buy a county license or write to us, we collect what you choose to send: your name, email address, telephone number, company name, the counties you are interested in, and the content of your messages. If you have an account, we hold your login credentials in hashed form.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Bank account and card details are entered on Stripe's systems and are never received or stored by us. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, the last four digits or bank name, and billing contact details. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. Information collected automatically

Our web server records the usual technical information when you load a page: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. We use this to serve the site, keep it secure and understand roughly how it is used. The site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party analytics at the time of writing. If that changes, this section and any consent control will be updated first.

5. County records, and information about land

Most of what Deedhawk contains is not information we collected from you. It is public property and ownership data compiled from county tax rolls, recorders, clerks of court and permit systems. Where that data concerns you as a property owner, it originates from those public sources, not from anything you gave us. We do not use it to profile you as a consumer, and you can ask us to note a correction where a record derived from a public source is wrong.

6. How we use information

To provide and license the product; to set up a county for you and operate your account; to take payment and keep accounting records; to answer you and provide support; to send service notices and, if you agree, occasional product email; to detect abuse and keep the service secure; to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations; and to improve the product.

7. Who we share it with

We share information with service providers who process it for us: our hosting provider, Stripe for payments, and our email provider. They are bound to use it only for the service they provide. We also share information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights and safety, and with professional advisers under confidentiality. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If Deedhawk is ever sold or merged, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction, and this policy would continue to apply until updated.

8. Not a consumer report

Deedhawk is a property and business records service. It is not a consumer reporting agency, and its output is not a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The data may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other purpose covered by the FCRA, and may not be used for any purpose that is unlawful or that violates a permissible-use agreement with us.

9. How long we keep it

Account and contact records are kept while your account is open and for as long afterwards as we need them for tax, accounting and legal reasons. Support correspondence is kept for up to three years. Server logs are kept for a short period. Records compiled from public sources are not personal account data and are retained as part of the product.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it, and payment credentials never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security; if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

11. Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in California, you also have the right to know what categories we collect and disclose, to correct and delete, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.

Write to contact@deedhawk.tech and we will respond within the period the law allows, usually 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Marketing email

If you receive product email from us, it comes with a working unsubscribe link and our business name and postal address (14415 N 41st Pl, Phoenix, AZ 85032), as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. Unsubscribing stops marketing email; it does not stop messages we must send about your account, a payment or a county you have licensed.

13. Children

Deedhawk is a business tool for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

14. Changes

We will update this policy when the product or the law changes, and revise the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
